The wait is over!  My solar system project is under way.  Photos are in my scrapbook here.

Real Goods started my solar system installation yesterday morning (Thursday).  Today they are installing standoffs and support rails.  They expect to complete the installation on Tuesday.

I will continue to post updates as the work progresses.

For those interested here are the system details:

Installer:  Real Goods Solar
Capacity: 3.8KW Grid tied
Panels: 18 Sharp 208W panels
Inverter: Fronius IG-4000

System will generate about 40% of my electric usage, and offset about 70% of my bill.

Break even point will be about 10 years assuming flat electric rates (which is unlikely.)
