Post-workshop inspiration is slipping

As it always does a few weeks after a workshop, my post-workshop inspiration is starting to fade.  I really need to get out and take some pictures to prop it up.  Saw some interesting stuff in old Sac a couple nights ago, need to remember that.

In other photography news:

:-)  I should be receiving a 450mm lens in the mail today.  I expect that this is the last focal length that I need for any kind of normal work.  But...I think I need to get another rail extension before I can use it.

:-(  It's looking like my 90mm lens has significant light drop off in the corners.  Need to do some testing and either: get a center filter, or buy a better 90mm lens.  Fortunately, 90mm lenses are pretty cheap if it comes to that.

:-)  My order of mounting and matting supplies arrived from Light Impressions.  Now I can start practicing with cold dry mounting, and matting.

:-)  Had a good session with a friend reviewing my shots from the workshop.  Always good to get someone else's perspective on my work.

:-(  Upon further examination I have determined that several of my shots from the workshop are in quite in focus.  Time to get my eyes checked!  Thanks to

I have an appointment in Jan.

:-(  Still no luck getting my printer calibrated.  May try one of the services I have found online.

:-)  Planning to take a couple negatives to the lab this week to get them professionally scanned.  This will be interesting!  Not sure how big of a file I can open on my machine, so need to do some testing before I go to the lab.  I did not build this computer with photo editing in mind, may have some upgrades in my future.

I love my printer. Granted, it's a multi-function and not specifically for photos (though, i do have like 6 individual cartridges in the darn thing), but the quality thus far has been lovely. I haven't yet printed photos to see what the quality is like on those, but it does scan negatives (i'm pretty sure, I'm not home to make absolutely sure). If you ever want to try it out and see if it meets your requirements, let me know.

You could still post a couple of your favorites. None of the quality issues you mention will be detectable on a computer monitor, with it's resolution and color limitations. The content and composition will still be apparent.
